TCAT Parliament
Our TCAT parliament are a group of year 6 children led by Mrs Holden. They meet half termly on a Wednesday to share their ideas with the other members of the TCAT parliament, which is made up from the other academies from TCAT.
By attending these regular meeting they are able to work together on their goals, discuss and deliver new initiatives in school, and work to be a driving force for pupil voice and improvements.
Meet the team!
Our Mission
The children have completed their anti-bullying ambassador training with the Diana Award. Through a series of group activities and discussions they were able to become fully-fledged ambassadors with the mission to be a child led anti-bullying group in school. They pledged to be upstanders and excitedly planned whole school activities to enable them to be awarded badges through the Diana Award.
Diana Award - Wellbeing badge
The children have proudly named themselves “Positivity leaders” and have organised and ran several activities to carry out the 5 actions to complete their wellbeing badge.
- They planned and presented a whole school assembly to introduced themselves, the Diana Award and their missions.
- Our TCAT parliament run a break and lunchtime support group. They designed their own hi-vis vests which they proudly wear whilst we offer help and support to any children that may need it. They want to make sure everyone is happy and has someone to play with.
- TCAT parliament organised a fun positivity pebble hunt. They decorated lots of pebbles with positive messages which the children at Great Sankey Primary loved to find and rehide. They loved it and it spread so much happiness and positivity.
- They ran a positive X (twitter) takeover day. The children found lots of positive and inspirational messages and images, then, with the help of Mrs Wilding, they sent a tweet each hour to flood the schools twitter feed with positivity!
- Finally, TCAT parliament have designed and created “positivity postcards"! These are given to children who spread kindness and positivity around our school.
TCAT parliament are very proud to announce that the Diana Award have not only awarded them the wellbeing badge, but also praised the activities that they ran to complete the actions.
